Amazon Rain Forest

Here, many countries are committing acts of deforestation. Brazil has most of the forest within their territory and are not keeping it in tact. This is a troublesome issue because the deforestation is causing huge amounts of pollution and carbon emissions because the forest hold a lot of the carbon dioxide in the forest. Not only is Brazil doing this, but Colombia and Peru are also contributing to the deforestation causing huge pollution problems and help global warming. Brazil is trying to stop illegal logging, but isn't working very well due to cattle raisers that continue to look for new and better land. However, the rate is slowing down.

Mining and burning fossil fuels
Many countries mine for natural resources due to the fact that their land is very rich and since most of these countries are still developing. They mine, but this is causing pollution and a lot of global warming issues that are ruining the environment for event he world. Mexico was at the top of the "most air pollution" list at one point as well. This is mainly due to the fact that they burn lots of fossil fuels like oil.

Agriculture

Agriculture is a very important aspect to Latin America. However, this isn't that easy with issues like the burning of forests and the mountainous geography of the region. When agriculture is needed on a mountain, they tend to use terraces and use the environment to their advantage. This also helps in preventing soil erosion. When a forest burns due to a forest fire or people burning it down themselves, they use the ashes as fertilizer. This does however help in deforestation as some farmers continue to do this burn down forests.
